Dear Bulgarian fellows,

Today we celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the establishment of the Bulgarian-Canadian Society of British Columbia.

We would like to express a special appreciation to our compatriots-enthusiasts who have founded the society on July 22, 2001: Violeta Detcheva (President); Tony Apostolov (Vice President); Margarita Trifonova (Social Coordinator); Jeliazko Andreev (Public Relations); Boriana Arguirova (Secretary); Vania Alexieva (Bulgarian School); Ina Kotzeva (Marketing); Alex Spassov (Treasurer), and Hristo Dragolov (Sport).

We also would like to sincerely thank all the volunteers who have been supporting our Society throughout the years, taking time from their busy lives to help out with various activities and initiatives.

And last but not least, we would like to recognize the efforts of all the ambassadors of the Bulgarian culture and spirituality in the Bulgarian diaspora in Vancouver who strive to preserve the Bulgarian national identity and culture in Canada.

We wish health and a fruitful collaboration among ourselves in the upcoming future as we stand behind the Bulgarian motto: “Unity makes strength”.

Sincerely,
Bulgarian-Canadian Society of British Columbia
