The initiative “Days of Bulgaria”, which gained popularity in the last few months in Canada will take place in March in British Columbia.

The Consulate General of the Republic of Bulgaria in Toronto and the Bulgarian-Canadian Society of British Columbia are hosting a special event that will showcase the Bulgarian culture.

We will start with a Rose Planting Ceremony in the City of Burnaby, British Columbia.

The idea came in the fall of last year during a meeting of the Consul General of Bulgaria in Toronto, Ms. Velislava Panova with the mayor of the City of Burnaby, Mr. Mike Hurley, as this is the city where a large part of the Bulgarian community lives and where the city’s hundred-year-old rose garden is located on Burnaby Mountain.

At this event we will have the opportunity to showcase Bulgaria’s wonderful places – mountains, rivers and seas- through our music and dance performances.

We will also present the city of Kazanlak – the City of Roses- and its famous Rose Valley.
